Just like THAT....John Picard is back in the race.
After a wild and woolly weekend, several new names surfaced for the potential Democratic nominee for Mayor. Just as things were settling into place, word came out tonight that Picard has reconsidered his refusal of the nomination.
On Wednesday night, Picard told Channel 8 news:
“Most people ask me to reconsider,” said Mayor Picard. “I’m pretty sure my mind is made up.”
He also told the New Haven Register:
"... Picard said his mind is made up, and though he loves being mayor, he is looking forward to spending more time with his wife, 2-year-old daughter and the baby when it arrives."
Now we can see what "made up" means to John Picard's mind.
Was this all an act? Was Picard play-acting in front of West Haven voters? Or is this little farce a harbinger of darker problems?
Is Picard stable enough (or committed enough) to provide the leadership West Haven needs?
LET THE GAMES.......BEGIN!

OK being unstable = changing one's mind. give me a break. He thought about it probably spoke with his family and decided to run due to his love of West Haven. this in itself does not make someone unstable. Good God. !!
The instability part comes from the tearful rejection of the endorsement....especially when followed by this so-called "change of heart.
You or I have the luxury of changing our minds....but NOT on something as important as this.
If we cannot trust him to know what to do on something this momentous, how do we know that he's not wishy-washy on everyday decisions which eventually affect our taxes?
I agree BOB.
Anyone that cries, goes on all the media outlets that will give him attention and says he is not running for Mayor has some serious issues. Imagine if you did that at your job: cried and then quit and then four days later changed your mind. HA it would never work in the private sector.
